Fazee - Funny Face Filter is a photography app designed to make every selfie and photo feel much more fun and playful. I found it on Google Play a few weeks ago, and it has been my go to tool for silly edits ever since. The app lets you apply funny face filters, swap faces, and add crazy effects to your photos in just a few taps. It launched sometime last year, and it is available on both Google Play and the App Store, which is great for people on different phones. The app has over a million downloads now, and I can see why because it is completely free to download and use. You do not need to register or create an account to start using it, which I really like. There are some in app purchases for extra filters and stickers, but the free version already has plenty of stuff to keep you busy. There are also ads, but they pop up only sometimes and are not too annoying.

Using Fazee is very simple. When you open the app, you just pick a photo from your gallery or take a new one with your camera. Then you scroll through the different funny face filters and tap on one to see the preview right away. My favorite thing to do is use the face swap feature with my friends, and we always end up laughing at the results. One tip I have is to make sure your face is well lit and facing the camera directly, because the filter works much better that way. Another tip is to use the save button right after you edit, so the photo goes straight to your gallery without any watermarks. I also like that you can adjust the filter strength with a small slider, which helps when you want the effect to look a bit more natural.

Compared to other similar apps, Fazee stands out because it feels faster and lighter on my phone. Cons

  • 📶 The ads can be a bit distracting when you are trying to preview a filter. They usually show up right when you are about to pick one, and it interrupts the flow. If the ads were shown only when you save or exit, it would feel a lot smoother.
