I've been playing MapleStory: Idle RPG on my phone for a while now, and it's a side-scrolling idle RPG made by Nexon. It's available on both Google Play and the App Store, and it's free to download. The game has in-app purchases, but you can play without spending money. You'll see ads here and there, but they're not too annoying. It's not just mobile, which is cool, because you can also play it on PC through some emulators, but the main focus is the mobile version.
The gameplay is simple. Your character fights monsters automatically, and you collect gear and level up. You don't need to tap the screen all the time, which is great for me. The best part is the auto-battle system. You can set your skills and let the game run while you do other stuff. My favorite part is the boss raids. They happen at set times, and you team up with other players to take down big bosses. It gives you a reason to log in every day and push your power higher. The game also has a lot of events, so there's always something new to do.
Compared to other idle RPGs like Black Desert Mobile or AFK Arena, this one feels more relaxed. The art style is cute and colorful, just like the original MapleStory, which I played years ago on PC. It brings back good memories. I recommend this game if you like old-school MapleStory but want something you can play on your phone without spending hours grinding. It's perfect for casual players who still want to see progress. If you're looking for a chill game that respects your time, give this one a try.
