GasBuddy is a travel & local app that makes finding cheap gas simple and fast. I've been using it for about two years now. It shows gas prices from stations near you, and you can sort by price or distance. The app was launched way back in 2009, and since then it has been downloaded millions of times on Google Play. The app is free to download and you can use it without registering, but some features like saving your favorite stations work better if you create a free account. The app does show some ads, and you can remove them if you pay for a subscription. There are no in-app purchases for extra features, just optional payments if you want an ad-free experience. On Google Play, the app has more than 10 million installs. It works on both Android and iOS, and I really think it helps save money on gas in a simple way. The interface is clean, and it updates prices quickly. I like that I can check prices before I leave home so I don't waste time at expensive stations.
Using the app is easy. You open it, and it shows a map with gas stations near you and their prices. You can also search by location or use the nearby stations list. I always sort by price to find the cheapest option first. A tip I'd give is to check the prices once in the morning and then again when you're about to fill up because prices can change during the day. While Gas Guru shows prices too, it doesn't have as many stations listed in my area. Fuelio is more about tracking your own fuel usage and expenses rather than finding the lowest price. For me, GasBuddy wins because it focuses on real time deals and has a pay feature that offers discounts at some stations. It's just more practical for everyday use. I've recommended it to friends because it actually works well and the price comparisons are accurate most of the time. I wouldn't use any other app for finding cheap gas.

Cons

- 👎 The app has a lot of ads unless you pay. Compared to Fuelio which is ad free, the ads can get annoying when you just want to look at a map quickly.
