The app itself is completely free to download and install. You don't necessarily need to register to browse the menu or find deals, but creating an account unlocks the best features, like saving your favorite orders and paying directly through the app. Yes, you use it to pay for your food, so there are in-app purchases for your meals. You'll also see ads, but they're usually just promotions for new menu items or limited-time deals, which can actually be helpful.

Using the McDonald's app is pretty straightforward. I open it when I'm thinking about food or already on my way.
