myChevrolet is a utility app created to help you manage your Chevy vehicle from your phone. I've been using this app since I bought my 2022 Silverado, and it's been pretty handy for keeping track of things like oil life and tire pressure. It launched back in 2014 and is available on Google Play and the App Store, with over 10 million downloads on Google Play alone. The app is totally free to download, but you do need to create a Chevy or GM account to log in. There are no in-app purchases, but you will see some ads for Chevy services and accessories. You can also connect it to your vehicle if you have an active OnStar subscription, which unlocks remote features.
To use this app, you just log in and link your vehicle using the VIN number. After that, the home screen shows your fuel level, oil life, and tire pressure if your car supports it. A simple tip I picked up is to set up notifications for maintenance reminders. That way, you get a push alert when it's time for an oil change or a tire rotation. You can also start your engine or unlock your doors from the app if you have the remote access package. That feature saved me once when I locked my keys inside the truck at a gas station.
Compared to similar apps like FordPass or Toyota's app, myChevrolet feels less polished in some ways. FordPass has a cleaner interface and smoother navigation, but myChevrolet gives more detailed info on engine diagnostics. I chose myChevrolet over others because it directly pulls data from the car's computer. You don't have to guess or check manually. It's not perfect, but for a free app, it gets the job done well enough.
Features

Pros
