Girls' Frontline 2: Exilium is a tactical RPG and the direct sequel to the popular mobile strategy game Girls' Frontline. It is developed by MICA Team and Sunborn Network, with HaoPlay Limited listed as the publisher. The game is available on both Android and iOS through the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. It is free to download and play, but it includes in-app purchases for items like new characters, skins, and resources to speed up progress. The game does not feature forced video ads, keeping the experience uninterrupted.
The core gameplay is a mix of turn-based tactical combat on a grid and real-time exploration. You command a squad of 'T-Dolls' (android soldiers) in challenging missions. The best part is the deep tactical layer. Positioning, skill timing, and team composition matter a lot. My favorite part as a player is the new 'Real-Time Tactical' mode. It feels more dynamic than the first game. You move your units in real-time on the world map, setting up ambushes and managing resources, which adds a great layer of strategy outside of battles. The story and character development are also much deeper this time.
Compared to the first Girls' Frontline, Exilium offers full 3D graphics and more complex battlefield mechanics. If you like games like XCOM or Final Fantasy Tactics for their grid combat, you will enjoy this. However, it is less auto-battle focused than many other mobile RPGs. It requires real thought. I recommend this game to players who want a serious tactical challenge on mobile and who are invested in the Girls' Frontline universe's rich story and characters.
Features

- 3D Tactical Grid Combat ⚔️ - Fight on detailed 3D maps. Use cover, elevation, and unit facing to gain an advantage over enemies.
- Deeper T-Doll Customization 🔧 - Each character has extensive skill trees and gear options, allowing for highly specialized team builds.
- Environmental Interaction 💥 - Use objects in the battlefield, like exploding barrels or destructible cover, to change the flow of combat.
- Command Vehicle System 🚛 - A new mobile base unit provides support in battle and is crucial for survival in the exploration phases.
Pros
- Serious Tactical Depth 🧠 - Much deeper than typical mobile RPGs. Feels like a proper PC strategy game.
- Stunning 3D Visuals ✨ - A huge upgrade from the first game. Characters and battlefields look fantastic.
- Engaging Story 📖 - Continues the complex and mature narrative that fans love, with great new characters.
Cons
- Very Demanding Playstyle ⏳ - Not a casual pick-up-and-play game. Missions require time and focus.
- Steep Learning Curve 📈 - New players, especially those new to tactical games, might find it overwhelming at first.
- Hardware Intensive 📱 - The high-quality 3D graphics can drain battery and may not run well on older phones.
