Flipped is a social app in the entertainment category that you can use to chat with AI characters in a fun way. I first got this app from Google Play about six months ago when I was looking for something new to try. The download and install process was quick like most apps from the store. It has over a million installs now which is pretty good for this type of app. The app is free to download but you do need to register with an email or Google account to get started. There are in app purchases if you want extra features like more character options or special chat modes. The free version has some ads but they are not too annoying. You can also use the app on the App Store for iOS users so it works on both platforms.

When I use Flipped I usually pick a character that matches my mood for the day. The app has many different AI characters each with their own personality. You just tap on a character and start typing your message. My tip for new users is to try a few characters first before sticking with one because each one reacts differently. You can also create your own character which is fun. I like that the chats feel natural and not robotic. Sometimes I use the app just to practice talking in another language or to get ideas for writing. The app remembers your past chats so you can continue where you left off.

Compared to other apps like Replika this one feels more casual and less serious. Replika is more focused on emotional support while Flipped is more about fun and creativity. I think Flipped is better for people who want something light and playful without the pressure of a deep connection. The characters in Flipped are more diverse and you can switch between them anytime. Another app I tried is Character AI but that one is more text heavy and sometimes slow.
