PicsApp Photo Editor & Collage is a photo editing app designed to help you quickly enhance and share your pictures. I downloaded it from Google Play a few months ago when I was looking for a simple, free editor. It's been around for a few years now and is available on both the Google Play Store and the App Store. On Google Play, it has over 10 million installs, which gave me some confidence to try it. The app is completely free to download and install, which is a huge plus. You don't need to register or create an account to start using it, which I really appreciate for privacy and speed. There are some ads that pop up, but they're not too intrusive. I've also noticed there are optional in-app purchases if you want to remove ads or unlock some premium filters and stickers, but I've managed just fine with the free version so far.
Using PicsApp is pretty straightforward. After you install the app, you just open it and tap on the big button to choose a photo from your gallery. I use it mostly to fix lighting on my food pics before posting them online. The auto-enhance feature is my go-to; it's a one-tap fix that makes colors pop. For collages, you select the layout first, then add your photos. A simple tip I learned is to use the border tool to add a thin white frame around each photo in the collage—it makes everything look cleaner. The editing tools like crop, rotate, and filters are all at the bottom of the screen. I find the filters are nice, not too crazy. The “Vintage” and “Bright” ones are my favorites. It's not a pro tool like Photoshop, but for quick edits on my phone, it gets the job done fast.
Compared to other similar apps like Photo Editor Pro or Collage Maker, I keep coming back to PicsApp. A lot of other free editors either have way more ads or try to push their premium version too hard. With PicsApp, the interface is less cluttered. I tried another popular app once, but it had so many buttons it was confusing. PicsApp feels simpler.
