Period Tracker and Calendar is a health and lifestyle app designed to help you track your menstrual cycle and predict future periods easily. I found this app while searching on Google Play about two years ago, and it has been a helpful tool ever since. It is available for download on both Google Play and the App Store, and it has millions of installs worldwide. The app is free to download, and you don't need to create an account to use the basic features right away. There are some optional in app purchases if you want extra themes or to remove ads, but I have been using the free version without any issues. The ads are not too annoying and they do not pop up while you're in the middle of logging your cycle.

Using Period Tracker and Calendar is pretty straightforward. You just open the app and log the start and end dates of your period each month. The app then shows you a calendar view where you can see your predicted fertile days and next period dates. I really like how you can add notes about your mood, cramps, or flow level, which helps me understand my body better over time. One simple tip I can share is to set a reminder in the app to log your period. This way, you won't forget to mark the first day, and the predictions stay accurate. The app also sends you notifications a few days before your next period is expected, which I find really helpful for planning.

There are many period tracker apps out there like Clue and Flo, but I chose Period Tracker and Calendar because it feels less complicated. Some apps have too many features and ask for too much personal data from the start. This app is more straightforward and I appreciate that. It does not try to sell you a premium plan every time you open it. The calendar view is also much clearer and easier to read compared to other apps I have tried. For someone who just wants to track their cycle without extra fluff, this app works great. It may not have all the fancy extras, but it does exactly what I need it to do.

Features

  • 📍 The main function is logging your period dates and seeing a full monthly calendar with predictions for your next cycle, fertile window, and ovulation day. Compared to Clue, which has a timeline view that can feel messy, this app keeps everything clean and simple on one screen. You don't have to tap through multiple tabs to see your cycle data.
  • 📝 You can add daily notes about your symptoms like cramps, headache, bloating, or mood changes. Flo also has this feature, but it pushes a lot of health articles that I never read. This app just lets you write what you feel without extra content you didn't ask for. It feels more private and direct.
  • 🔔 The reminder system is very basic but effective. You can set custom reminders to log your period or to know when your next period is coming. Some apps like Eve have more complex reminders, but I find this simple approach better because it does not overwhelm you with notifications every day.
  • 📊 The app shows your cycle history in a list format so you can scroll back and see past period dates. This is useful for doctor visits or just understanding your own patterns. Compared to other apps that hide past data behind paywalls, this one keeps your history accessible for free.

Pros

  • 👍 It is very easy to use and does not require signing up or sharing personal information just to start tracking. Many similar apps like Glow ask for your email and birth date before you can even see the main screen. This app respects your privacy from the beginning.
  • 👍 The calendar view is clear and color coded, making it easy to spot your period days, fertile days, and predicted dates at a glance. Compared to apps like My Calendar, this one has a more modern look without being cluttered.
  • 👍 It works offline perfectly since all data is stored locally on your phone. You do not need an internet connection to log or view your cycle, which is great when traveling or when your data plan is limited.

Cons

  • 👎 The design looks a bit outdated compared to newer apps like Flo or Clue. The interface could use a visual refresh to feel more modern and engaging for younger users.
  • 👎 There is no backup or sync option for your data. If you lose your phone or switch to a new device, your cycle history cannot be restored. Other apps offer cloud backup for free, so this is a big missing feature.
  • 👎 The free version includes ads that occasionally appear at the bottom of the screen. While not intrusive, removing them requires a small payment. Some competitors offer ad free experience without charging extra.
