This is a mobile-only title, meaning you can't play it on PC or console. While the download is free, the game heavily features in-app purchases for various upgrades and characters. You will also encounter ads, typically for bonus rewards, but they are not overly intrusive during core gameplay.

The game is an 'idle' or 'AFK' RPG. You build a team of beautiful, witch-like characters who fight automatically. Your main job is to manage your team, level them up, and collect loot that piles up even when you're not playing. The best part is the stunning art and music. Each character has a unique, melancholic theme song and gorgeous animated visuals. My favorite part as a player is simply collecting new characters to hear their songs and see their special moves in battle. The story is dark and poetic, which is a nice change from typical RPG plots.

Compared to similar AFK games like AFK Arena or Idle Heroes, MementoMori stands out because of its incredible presentation. The other games focus more on complex team-building and PvP. This game is much more about the atmosphere and collection. If you enjoy idle games but want something with amazing art and a unique, somber mood, I highly recommend giving MementoMori a try.
