Cartoon Filter is a photo editing app designed to help you turn your photos into cartoon style images. It launched a few years back and you can download it on both Google Play and the App Store. I saw it has over 10 million installs on Google Play, which is pretty popular. The app is free to download and install, which is great for trying it out. You don't need to register or create an account to start using it, which I really like because it gets you right into the fun. There are some ads in the free version, and there are also in app purchases if you want to unlock more filters or remove the ads. I just use the free version and it works fine for me.

Using the Cartoon Filter app is super simple. You open the app and it lets you choose a photo from your gallery or take a new one with your camera. Once you pick a photo, you just swipe through the different cartoon filters. There are a lot of them, like comic book styles, pencil sketches, and watercolor looks. My tip is to try a few different ones on the same photo because some work better depending on the lighting and colors in your original picture. After you pick a filter, you can adjust the strength of the effect with a slider. When you're happy, you just save the image to your phone. It's really fast and easy to share your new cartoon photo directly to social media from the app.
