Reclaim AI is a productivity app designed to help you take back control of your time and schedule. I found it on Google Play about six months ago, and it's also available on the App Store. The app has over 500,000 installs, and it's free to download. You do need to create an account after install, which takes just a minute. There are in app purchases for premium features, and I also see some ads in the free version, but they don't bother me much. The main idea is that it connects to your calendar and automatically finds time for habits, tasks, and breaks. I use it every day to block time for reading and exercise, things I used to skip because I felt too busy. The setup was simple. I just gave it access to my Google Calendar, and it did the rest. It asks what habits I want to build and how much time I need. Then it fits them into my schedule automatically. A tip I learned is to check your calendar every morning. The app finds open slots, but you might want to move things around if you have a busy day. I also turned off notifications during focus time, so I don't get distracted. Before Reclaim, I tried using Google Calendar alone, but I always forgot to add time for myself. I tried Todoist, but it didn't help with scheduling. What I like about Reclaim is that it does both. It knows when I have meetings and when I am free. It feels like having a personal assistant. Some people might prefer Motion or Clockwise, but those apps felt too complex for me. Reclaim is simpler and easier to stick with. It does have limited options for non Google calendars, but for my use, it works fine.
Features
- Smart scheduling is the main feature I use. It finds gaps in your calendar and puts tasks and habits there automatically. It saved me hours of manual planning. Compared to Motion, Reclaim is easier to set up. Motion needs more input upfront, and I found it overwhelming.
- Habit tracking is built into the schedule. I added reading and walking as habits, and the app reserves time for them daily. Todoist has habit tracking too, but it does not connect to your calendar. With Reclaim, everything stays in one place, which is more convenient for me.
- Meeting buffer time is a nice touch. It adds 15 minutes before and after meetings, so I am never late. Clockwise does this too, but Reclaim gives more control over how long the buffer is. I set mine to 30 minutes for meetings I travel to.
Pros
- Calendar sync is very smooth. It works with Google Calendar better than TickTick does. Changes update instantly, and I do not have to refresh manually. This saves me a lot of frustration.
- The app keeps track of how much time I actually spend on habits. Motion shows task completion, but Reclaim shows time spent. This helps me see if I am really making progress.
- Setting up a new habit takes less than a minute. I just name it, set the time, and Reclaim does the rest. Todoist needs manual scheduling for each habit, which takes more effort.
Cons
- Support for non Google calendars is weak. I could not connect my Outlook calendar easily. Clockwise supports more calendar types, so this is a gap.
- The app can be slow to sync when I make changes on my phone. Sometimes I wait a few seconds for updates to appear. Motion is faster in this area.
