I found this app on Google Play about six months ago, and since then it has become a daily part of my routine. It is completely free to download and install, and you do not need to register right away to start reading, which I really like. The app has over a million downloads on Google Play and it is also available on the App Store. There are some optional in app purchases if you want extra study tools, and there are ads, but they are not too annoying. I use the app mostly for morning devotion and evening reflection, and it lets me pick a verse or a chapter based on how I feel that day.
When I open the app, I usually start with the daily verse that pops up first thing. It gives me a short reading and a simple thought to carry through the day. I can also choose a topic like anxiety, gratitude, or patience, and the app will show me verses that match that feeling. One tip I have is to use the highlight feature to save verses that stand out to you. I also like the reading plan section, which helps me go through a book of the Bible step by step without feeling overwhelmed. It is easy to use and does not make you feel like you need to be a Bible expert to get started.
I have tried other Bible apps like YouVersion and Logos, but I keep coming back to Bible Chat - Holy Bible Study because it feels less cluttered and more focused on simple reading. YouVersion has a lot of social features that I never use, and Logos can feel too academic for everyday use. This app just feels more like a friend helping you read rather than a big platform trying to sell you something. I also like that the app is made by Book Vitals Inc., which seems to care about quality content over flashy features. It is not trying to be everything to everyone, and that is what makes it stand out for me.

Cons
- ❌ Limited advanced study tools compared to apps like Logos or Accordance. If you want to look up Greek or Hebrew words, this app does not offer that.
- ❌ Ads can be distracting during longer reading sessions. I wish there was a small one time purchase to remove them completely without a subscription.
