FunVid is a photo and video app in the entertainment category that makes funny face filters simple and fast. I found it on Google Play a few months back and it had just crossed five million installs at that time. You can download it for free, and there is no need to register before you start using it. It works on both Google Play and the App Store, so my friends with iPhones can use it too. The app does have some in app purchases for extra filter packs, and you will see a few ads now and then, but they are not too annoying. I mostly use it for sending silly videos to my group chat, and it always gets a laugh.

When I open the app, I just pick a photo from my gallery or take a new one, and then I scroll through the filter list. The filters snap onto your face right away, and you can move them around with your finger. My favorite trick is to use the big mouth filter and then talk, because it looks hilarious. If you want better results, try to face the light and keep your head straight when the filter loads. Also, you can save your videos without a watermark if you watch a short ad, which is a good deal. I have learned to check the new filter section every week because they add fresh ones all the time, and that keeps the app fun.

I have tried other face filter apps like Snapchat and FaceApp, but FunVid feels lighter and faster on my phone. Snapchat has more features, but it feels heavy, and FaceApp is more about fixing photos than making them funny. FunVid is just about laughing, and that is why I keep it on my home screen. The filters here are more wild and cartoonish, which is exactly what I want for quick jokes.   • 📺 The ads can pop up at bad times. I was in the middle of recording a video once, and an ad interrupted me, which does not happen in Snapchat.
