If you are looking for a quick arcade-style driving fix on your phone, Mad Driving by developer minko wang (who lists the company as null) is a simple option. It is a mobile-only game that focuses on pure, chaotic driving action. You will find it on both Google Play and the App Store. The game is free to download, which is nice. But you should know it does have ads. You will see them pop up between runs. There are also in app purchases if you want to skip the ads or unlock extra cars. The price for these is small, usually under a few dollars.

The main goal is just to drive fast and wreck things. You drive a car on a straight road that is full of traffic. You can weave between cars to earn points. Or you can smash into them for a bigger score. The best part is the simple controls. You just steer left or right. There is no brake button. You only tap the screen to change lanes. My favorite part is the crash physics. When you hit another car, the parts fly everywhere. It feels very real for a small mobile game. The endless mode is also fun. You try to get the highest distance before you crash. It is easy to pick up and play for five minutes.

This game reminds me a lot of Traffic Racer, which is another endless driving game. But Mad Driving feels more chaotic and less polished. It is also similar to Smashy Road, but that game is more about escaping police. Here, you only worry about traffic. Compared to those games, Mad Driving is a bit rougher around the edges. The graphics are basic. The sound is simple. But it is a fun way to pass time. If you like simple driving games and do not need fancy graphics, I recommend you try it. It is not the best game in this style, but it has its own charm.

Features

  • Endless Mode: A game mode where you drive as far as you can without crashing. It is simple and addictive, like the endless levels in Traffic Racer.
  • Crash Physics: The game shows detailed car damage and flying parts. This is more dramatic than the basic crashes in Traffic Racer.
  • Lane Changing: You tap to switch between three lanes. The control is fast and responsive, which makes it easier than the tilt controls in some other games.
  • Traffic Patterns: The cars come in waves and groups. You must learn the pattern to survive, just like in games such as Highway Rider.
  • Ads and Rewards: You can watch ads to get extra coins. This is a common feature in free mobile games, but it is not too pushy here.

Pros

  • Pick Up and Play: It loads fast and you start driving in seconds. There is no long tutorial, which is great for busy players.
  • Crash Fun: The crash effects are very satisfying. They make you want to hit more cars, which raises the fun level above similar games.
  • Free to Start: You can play for free with no upfront cost. That is a big plus when you compare it to paid driving games.

Cons

  • Visuals Look Old: The graphics look like games from many years ago. They are not smooth or clear, which hurts the experience compared to newer titles.
  • Too Many Ads: The ad frequency is high. Sometimes an ad pops up right after a crash, and it interrupts your flow.
  • No New Content: The game feels incomplete. There are few cars and no new maps. You may get bored quickly after a few hours.
