Zombie Apocalypse: Doomsday-Z is a free-to-play action survival game you can find on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. It's a mobile-only game, so you won't find it on PC or console. The core game is free to download and play, but it does have ads and offers in-app purchases for things like premium weapons, character skins, and resources to speed up building. These purchases can range from a couple of dollars for a small pack to $50 or more for big bundles. The ads are mostly optional, popping up to give you rewards like extra ammo or coins.
You play as a survivor in a city overrun by zombies. The main gameplay loop has you scavenging abandoned buildings for supplies, crafting weapons and gear at your home base, and fighting off waves of zombies in real-time combat. The best part is the base-building. You get to fortify a safe house, set up traps, and manage survivors with different skills. My favorite part as a player is the tense night missions. When the sun goes down, tougher, faster zombies appear, and you have to use stealth and limited flashlight battery to complete objectives. It really makes you feel the pressure of survival.
Compared to similar games like Last Day on Earth: Survival or State of Survival, Doomsday-Z feels more focused on moment-to-moment action than deep crafting or clan warfare. The combat is smoother and more responsive, which is a big plus. If you enjoyed those other survival games but wished the shooting felt better, or if you just want a straightforward zombie shooter with a satisfying base-building hook, I'd recommend giving Doomsday-Z a try. It's less grindy in the early game, which makes it easier to jump into.
