Pregnancy Tracker & Baby Diary is a parenting app designed to help you track your pregnancy journey and your baby's early growth. I found it on Google Play while searching for something simple to use during my pregnancy. The app has been around for a little while and you can download it for free on both Google Play and the App Store. It has a decent number of installs, and honestly, I was surprised it didn't have more. You don't need to register to use it, which I really liked at the start. It does have some ads and you can buy extra features inside the app, but the free version is good enough for most basics.
When I first got the app, I just entered my due date and it set up the whole timeline for me. It shows you what is happening with your baby each week, which is fun to check. You can also log your symptoms and weight, and there is a space for your bump photos. My tip is to take a photo every week in the same spot, so you can look back and see the changes. I also used the contraction timer a lot before I went to the hospital, and it made things less stressful. After the baby came, I started using the baby diary part to track feedings and diaper changes, and it is easy to add notes.
I have tried a few other pregnancy apps like What to Expect and BabyCenter. They are helpful too, but I feel like they give you too much information at once. Pregnancy Tracker & Baby Diary feels more simple and clean. It does not push a million articles on you, and you can just get to the tracking tools quickly. I like that it does not try to be a social network. Some apps are more about comments and forums, but here it is about your own baby and your own data. That is why I kept using this one over the others.
Features
- 📅 The weekly baby size and milestone info is simple to read. It compares your baby to fruits, which is way easier to understand than boring medical terms.
- 🔔 It reminds you about your doctor visits and when to take your vitamins. That is a big help for me because I tend to forget things.
- 📝 The baby diary side is really handy. You can log milk, sleep, and diaper changes in just a few taps. It is much quicker than My Pregnancy today app, which has too many menus.
- 📸 The bump photo feature is great. It puts the photos side by side so you can see the growth clearly. The other app I used did not have this option for free.
Pros
- 👍 It is very light on your phone. It does not lag or crash like some bigger apps I tried from Google Play.
- 🙂 The design is not cluttered. Everything is where you expect it, and you do not have to find your way through confusing tabs.
- ⭐ The offline mode works well. You can still see your info even when you do not have internet, which is not true for other similar apps.
Cons
- ⚠️ It could have a better baby name section. It is basic and not as fun as other apps.
- 🔧 The synchronization between devices is slow at times. I wish it would update faster when I switch between my phone and tablet.
