The mobile version is free to download, but it does have in-app purchases for things like character packs and "stud multipliers" to help you progress faster. You can play without spending money, but you'll see ads and the grind to unlock everything can be long. It's a premium experience on PC and consoles where you pay once upfront.

The gameplay is classic LEGO fun. You smash everything in sight to collect studs (the in-game currency), solve simple puzzles by building LEGO objects, and fight through levels packed with humor. You control a huge roster of heroes and villains, each with unique abilities like Superman's heat vision or Green Lantern's constructs. My absolute favorite part is the space levels.
