The Sims™ FreePlay is a life simulation game developed by Electronic Arts. It's available on both mobile platforms (iOS and Android) through the App Store and Google Play) and is completely free to download. As a mobile-first version of the classic PC franchise, it lets you build a town and control the lives of your Sims. The game is supported by in-app purchases for premium currency (Simoleons and Lifestyle Points) and occasional video ads to earn bonuses, which is pretty standard for a free-to-play title. You can spend real money on packs that add new content, like hobbies or storylines, but you can progress without paying if you're patient.

Playing The Sims FreePlay is all about managing your own little town. You create Sims, build and decorate their homes, and guide them through careers, relationships, and hobbies. The best part is the sheer amount of stuff to do—there are constant events, quests, and long-term goals like unlocking the movie studio or the pet park. My favorite part as a player is the home design. It's surprisingly deep for a mobile game; you can place walls, choose from tons of furniture, and really personalize each house. It feels more like the classic Sims building experience than other mobile sim games.

Compared to other mobile life sims, FreePlay stands out for its depth. Games like SimCity BuildIt focus more on city management, while Avakin Life is centered on social interaction and avatar customization. FreePlay gives you that core Sims experience of controlling individual lives and building homes, which is why I keep coming back to it. If you enjoyed The Sims on PC and want a portable version with a lot of content, this is the one I'd recommend, even with the wait times for some actions.
